The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has an outstanding history of service and excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Australia. As Australia's most reputable charity for 2020, every hour of every day the RFDS is performing lifesaving work across Western Australia.

The Head of Clinical Commercial Services is a newly created role accountable for managing and supporting the implementation of clinical commercial service contracts and focusing on growth within this area. Reporting to the General Manager - Clinical, the successful candidate will be key in providing leadership to develop, maintain and grow a portfolio of service delivery operations while managing the strategic relationship with existing clients and fostering solid relations with future clients.

Creating and adhering to clinical governance and standards in line with best practice, the role will have a strong focus on contract compliance, management and review. You will drive the Clinical Commercial Services function by utilising your experience in strategic planning, operational excellence and implementation. The ability to understand and predict the client needs, coupled with clinical awareness and any subsequent requirements, will be instrumental.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience in, and an understanding of, clinical environments, specifically regarding remote locations
  • The ability to fulfil contractual obligations by leading your team of remotely located clinicians
  • A high level of negotiation and relationship development skills
  • Demonstrated experience identifying new clinical services opportunities
  • Project management of greenfield clinical services to operational status
  • A high level of communication skills, with an understanding of clinical requirements onsite and offshore the ability to work both at a clinical level as well as an effective liaison with key stakeholders
  • A demonstrated understanding and experience in implementing and applying service management and business principles, processes and procedures, with a strong customer focus
  • The ability to think and act strategically and exercise sound judgement, at times with limited information
  • Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety medicine with knowledge of injury management and return to work processes

Qualifications:

  • Clinical tertiary qualifications, such as a Bachelor of Paramedicine or Nursing or relevant industry experience
