RFDS Western Operations use the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, delivered by our amazing and motivated team of professionals across our Regional bases, plus extensive medical, aviation and corporate facilities at Jandakot, a fleet of 18 aircraft, with approximately 300 staff.
As a CASR Part 141 qualified training organisation, an increase to our network configuration is driving growth within our aviation training team to meet the increased training and checking demands for more than 50 pilots flying for one of the oldest and most respected aviation organisations in the world.
The RFDS Western Operations aviation training team requires a full-time Training and Checking Captain to assist with the delivery of training and checking for RFDSWO pilots for our fleet of PC12 aircraft. The successful candidate will possess superior aircraft handling and operational skills, recorded via flight training, checking or assessment records. The right person will also have strong interpersonal and crew resource management skills to actively demonstrate and reinforce RFDSWO Values while delivering industry best training and checking practices to our Pilot group and other RFDSWO employees.

This position will be based out of Jandakot, Western Australia, with regular travel to our regional bases, occasional overseas travel may be required.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a CASR Part 61 Flight Examiner Rating
- CASR Part 61 Simulator Instructor or Flight Instructor Rating (FIR with CLR SEA or MEA, IR A and DF highly desirable)
- Current Class 1 CASA Medical
- Instrument Rating with minimum five (5) renewals
- CASA Commercial Pilots Licence
- 5000 hours Total Command Time
- 500 hours Night Time
- 250 hours Instrument Flying time
- Current Australian Drivers' License
- Previous Aeromedical Experience
- Previous Flight Instructor Experience
- Simulator Instructor Experience
- Previous Flight Examiner Experience
- Management Experience (Aviation)
- Remote Area Experience
